- The six fields of the senses, i. e. the objective fields of sight, sound, smell, taste, touch, and idea (or thought); (sa) rūpa, form and color, is the field of vision; sound, of hearing; scent, of smelling; the five flavors, of tasting; physical feeling, of touch; and mental presentation, of discernment; cf. 六入; 六處 and next.
